Yara Rodrigues Fowler grew up in a Brazilian British household in London. Her debut novel Stubborn Archivist explores growing up between cultures, finding your space within them and learning to live in a traumatized body. Our stubborn archivist tells her story through history, through family conversations, through the eyes of her mother, her grandmother and her aunt and slowly she begins to emerge into the world, defining her own sense of identity. An exciting, bold, witty debut, Stubborn Archivist is unlike any book you’ve read, and one you won’t forget.

Novel Writers
Each month we invite a debut novelist to read from and talk about their work in an informal setting. Prior knowledge of the text is not essential. Topics of discussion include theme, structure, inspiration and the craft of writing. These sessions are a great way to discover new writing talent and great books.
