Every year Spike Island offers fellowships to promising graduates. These artists – selected from an open call to students – are offered studio space at Spike Island, access to our facilities, support from our programme team and free membership to Spike Island Associates for a year. This opportunity aims to support and encourage artists in Bristol as they begin to develop their professional practices.

We are excited to introduce our Graduate Fellows for 2022–23: Rosie Bales (UWE Bristol), Velvet Butler Carroll (UWE Bristol), Joseph De Sousa (UWE Bristol) and Cara Evans (Bath Spa University). Rosie Bayliss is the 2022–23 Dreamtime Fellow, a fellowship funded and supported by established Bristol-based artist Luke Jerram.

This event sees our new Fellows introduce themselves and their practices, alongside our outgoing Graduate Fellows 2021–22: Jocelyn Brett & Hat Fidkin (UWE Bristol), Alex Wilmoth (UWE Bristol) and Mei Silvio (Bath Spa), and Belovitch our 2021–22 Dreamtime Fellow. They share thoughts about their experiences at Spike Island and discuss their aspirations for the future.

Join us for drinks and networking with the Spike Island community at this year’s unmissable Night of the Fellows.
