Four days of concerts, exhibitions and workshops across the city

Taking place biennially across Bristol, and returning for its fourth edition in 2020, Bristol New Music is an adventurous exploration of the city through sound, with artists from across the radius of contemporary music gathering for four days of newly commissioned works, sonic responses to rarely used spaces, landmark concert hall programmes, club nights, gallery exhibitions and screenings.

Programme highlights for 2020 include a site-specific commission for Manchester-based sound artist Kelly Jayne Jones, creating a bespoke installation-performance in the rarely-used subterranean vaults below Bristol’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, maverick Japanese conceptualist Asuna presenting his sonically and visually arresting 100 Keyboards project (wherein 100 battery-powered keyboards are laid in formation to create waves of overlapping sound) on the floor of St George’s Bristol, plus performances from Laraaji, Beatrice Dillon, Alvin Curran, Deathprod, Hezarfen Ensemble, Midori Takada and many more.
