Join us for an online alternative to our regular behind the scenes studio visits at Spike Island. This is a chance to explore artists’ studios and view works-in-progress during these informal encounters. Each artist gives a brief introduction to their practice followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion via the online chat.

Rodney Harris works with natural materials in sculpture, education, printmaking and live art, often collaborating with different disciplines, addressing environmental and social issues.

Rodney Harris works with natural materials in sculpture, education, printmaking and live art, often collaborating with different disciplines, addressing environmental and social issues.

Previously he undertook a long-term residency with Knowle West Children’s Centre and was the Leverhulme Artist in Residence at Bristol University. He also co-founded the Earth Art Gallery at the University following his residency.

His long-term collaboration with artist Valda Jackson – Jackson&Harris – is currently commissioned by Peabody In London for Espalier, a 17-metre wide relief sculpture of a community tree for the Community Centre on the Peabody Estate in St John’s Hill, currently in production at Spike Island and due for installation in summer 2021.
