Our new website has been developed by Bristol-based agency Atomic Smash – former tenants of ours in Spike Design. Atomic Smash have worked closely with us over the past year to create a beautiful online platform, rich with information and resources.
Our initial brief was for a website that communicated Spike Island’s multifaceted nature, while also being robust, accessible and intuitive to benefit and inspire all of our online visitors. Our new site is ‘mobile first’ in its approach, prioritising accessibility in utilising high contrast colours and a clear legible font.
Read Atomic Smash’s blogpost about the process of developing our new site, from requirements gathering and user research, to design and development.
Brand guidelines for the site were developed by our designers Kellenberger-White who also have recently refreshed our brand identity and the design of our marketing materials. We also worked closely with Bristol-based copywriter and journalist Sian Norris – our former writer in residence – on the copy for key pages throughout our new site.
