Every year Spike Island offers fellowships to promising graduates. These artists, selected from an open call to students, are offered studio space at Spike Island, access to our facilities and artist development programmes and mentorship from our staff for a year. This opportunity aims to support and encourage artists in Bristol as they begin to develop their professional practices.

We are excited to introduce our Graduate Fellows for 2021–22: Hat Fidkin & Jocelyn Brett (UWE Bristol), Mei Silvio (Bath Spa University) and Alex Wilmoth (UWE Bristol). Dolores Belovitch is our 2021–22 Dreamtime Fellow, a fellowship initiated with funding and support from established Bristol-based artist Luke Jerram.

This event sees the new fellows introduce themselves and their practices alongside our outgoing 2020–21 Fellows: Esther Hesketh, Isaac Jordan and Caroline Vitzthum, who share thoughts about their experiences at Spike Island and discuss their aspirations for the future.

To access this event online you will join a Zoom meeting. We invite you to participate throughout by having your camera on and contributing questions or comments in the chat box. You can opt-out of being on camera at any time and can choose to represent yourself in any way you feel comfortable.
