Five Acts Performance (Live)

Young In Hong / Bristol New Music

A performance that draws inspiration from Korean shamanic traditions, where drums and rhythmic instruments are used to blur the divide between the human and the divine.

It features a Taiko drummer and four performers who activate a series of percussion instruments, exploring alternative and non-verbal responses to history, narrative and form.

The work invokes a premodern sensibility, particularly the concept of the sacred, suggesting that artworks can embody forgotten powers that go beyond representation.

Performed by Molly Olivia Broad, Emma Holbrook, Johnny Jones, Eden Leo and Clara Potter- Sweet.

Performance: 3pm
Free entry (booking necessary)

Young in Hong, Five Acts is open throughout the Festival (Wednesday to Sunday). Free entry.

This performance took place as part of Bristol New Music 2024.
