Natasha Rosling

Natasha Rosling creates installations, soundscapes, writing and public interventions in dialogue with places and people. Her work deals with the porous boundaries between the interior spaces of the body and the outside environment. She has long been fascinated by internal organs and their systems, examining the connections between emotional and bodily processes; how we feel, imagine and make sense of what goes on beneath the skin, and the unique ways that people confront mortality. Her interests are currently focused on the intersection of the arts and public health.

Recent works include a permanent sculpture commission for the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail– a giant, tactile walk through a crevice, cast from sections of an ancient iron ore mine beneath the forest, recalling an history of labour through the marks left by miners in the rock. Previous to this, she has had a number of solo shows including at: Hardwick Gallery Cheltenham; Fei Centre of Contemporary Art, Shanghai; Outline Gallery Amsterdam; Hidde van Seggelen gallery London, and has made performances and commissions for international institutions such as Wellcome Collection, London; Pinacoteca Museum, Sao Paulo; Norrkoping Art Museum, Sweden; Mori Art museum Tokyo; Jeu de Paume Paris.
