Direct Debit Guarantee

This guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.

The Direct Debit guarantee is the Direct Debit scheme’s customer protection. The guarantee is offered by all building societies and banks who accept direct debits.

As a customer, the Direct Debit Guarantee protects you against payments made in error or fraudulently. This means Direct Debit is the safest payment method in the UK.

 

Your Direct Debit with Spike Island

Spike Island uses GoCardless to process Direct Debit payments. Read the GoCardless Direct Debit Guarantee here. When we say ‘Spike Island Artspace Ltd below, this means that we have authorised GoCardless to make these payment processes on our behalf.

If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, Spike Island Artspace Ltd. will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Spike Island Artspace Ltd. to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.

If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit by Spike Island Artspace Ltd., or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.

If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Spike Island Artspace Ltd. asks you to.

You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may also be required. Please also notify us at admin@spikeisland.org.uk or call 0117 927 7120. You can also use these contact details to ask us any questions about your Direct Debit agreement with Spike Island Artspace Ltd. 

Payments will appear on your bank statement as GoCardless, ref: SPIKEISLAND-[XXXXXX]
