Carol Jackman was born in Shillong, India. In the 1990s she studied Fine Art at Exeter and UWE Bristol, followed by an MA in Printmaking at Camberwell.
Carol is on a continuous search to find the simplicity of conveying the poetics of geography that resonate a familiarity to the viewer. She also addresses some of the serious political and ecological problems that are often overlooked or hidden beneath the complexity of the map.
Carol is a founder member of Spike Print Studio. She was a Spike Island Artist Trustee from 2010 to 2016. More recent shows include Howard Gardens Gallery Cardiff, The Station Bristol, and West Wharf Gallery Cardiff.
