Aphra Beart-Albrecht graduated with a degree in Art & Writing from UWE Bristol in 2025, and was awarded a Graduate Fellowship at Spike Island from 2025-26.

Her practice builds from a feminist, experiential framework, often centring around the body and its political and cultural entanglements. She works across a range of media including metal, textiles and writing, frequently combining them in sculptural or installation-based works.

Beart-Albrecht is particularly interested in craft as an embodied form of knowledge. Her work emphasises tactility and the act of making as a means of questioning the relationship between body, labour and value. Unsettling undercurrents emerge through subversion of materials and processes, inviting viewers to dwell in ambiguity.
