Artist Suzanne Mooney, whose solo show The Edge of Collapse is showing in the Project Space from 21 January, discusses her methods of image making and creative influences withn Dr. Mick Wilson, artist, writer and Dean of the Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media, Dublin, Ireland.

Suzanne Mooney (1976) was born in Ireland, studied at Chelsea College of Art and earned and MA from the Royal College of Art in 2005. She lives and works in Bristol and has been a Spike Island studio holder since 2008.

Mooney's work is concerned with the potential sculptural qualities of photography and the collapse of an object into its representational form. Recent group exhibitions include Rotate at the Contemporary Arts Society, London (2011), Human/Nature at Farmleigh House Gallery, Dublin (2011) and solo exhibition The Edge of Collapse at Spike Island, Bristol (2012). Her work has been included in In Our World; New Photography from Britian and she recently received a Bursary Award from the Arts Council of Ireland (2010). She is currently working as a senior lecturer at UWE, Bristol.
