Join us for a fun, creative session, inspired by artist Candice Lin’s exhibition, Pigs and Poison at Spike Island. In this Dream and Make workshop we celebrate the Lunar New Year, as we enter the year of the tiger. Create your own wearable costumes or fashion garments using repurposed clothes such as old t-shirts, sweatshirts or even aprons. We will explore bold and colourful collage and printmaking techniques, giving you space to let your ideas run wild.
This event is taking place in person, in small groups of eight at a time in the Spike Island Associates space. Please book a timeslot (either 10.15am or 11.30am).
Please bring some old clothing with you for this session that you don’t mind being permanently altered. If you need us to provide a garment for you please let us know in advance.
These monthly activity sessions are led by artist Laura Phillimore. Dream and Make allows children aged from 5 to 11 years old to try out new techniques and approaches to making art, from drawing and painting to collage, sculpture and animation.
