Create collages using layered found imagery, your own illustrations and 35mm slides to create a visual poem to project in the space. This Dream and Make workshop is inspired by the current exhibitions and explores themes around memories and imagined narratives.
These monthly activity sessions are led by artists and take place in the Spike Island Café. Visitors of all ages and abilities can try out new techniques and approaches to making art, from drawing and painting to collage, sculpture and animation and are invited to drop in any time during the session. Dream and Make is led by artist Laura Phillimore.
Laura Phillimore (b. London, 1984) works across a variety of mediums including installation, sculpture and collage and trained at Bristol Old Vic theatre school in Theatre and Costume design. Her diverse background in performance and theatre design, invites audiences into playful and often surreal visual narratives in her art work.
She is currently working on a number of community focussed projects and is founder of Dream and Make, exploring narrative led immersive art experiences for children and families in London and the South West.
