Patrick Haines (1961) was born in Walsall and studied horticulture before fine art sculpture. Leaving college, he worked for film and television, gaining knowledge as a sculptor on productions such as Spitting Image and at Aardman Animations and Arteffects London, where he worked on pieces for leading artists.
Haines now focuses solely on his own art in which nature provides much of his inspiration. He uses materials such as blackthorn ash and hawthorn, alongside man-made objects to create uneasy juxtapositions. His pieces explore exciting myths and spiritual beliefs, and he is represented by Bo-Lee Gallery in Bath.
