Niamh Collins (1956) was born in Dublin and graduated from the Royal College of Art, London in 1981. She lives and works in Bristol and has been a Spike Island studio holder since 2010.
Collins’ work is concerned with representing the experience of landscape through colourful abstract painting using unusual and experimental techniques. Alongside the abstract work is a new series of paintings exploring the relationship between man, machine and the Antarctic, using photographs taken in the 1970’s.
Her work is included in many private and public collections worldwide.
