Spike Island is an international centre for the development of contemporary art and design, located close to Bristol’s harbourside. It is a place where artists and the public can meet, enabling audiences to engage with artists’ research and production. Within the 80,000 square foot building Spike Island offers visitors a year-round programme of internationally relevant exhibitions, events and activities, as well as providing working space for artists, designers and creative businesses. Front of House Assistants and Volunteers play a vital role in the everyday running of our busy cultural venue.
You will recruit, train and develop our team of volunteers and Front of House staff and directly supervise Spike Island’s gallery, programmed events and Front of House function on a day-to-day basis.
The role demands someone with excellent communication and people management skills, a strong visible presence and a responsive, can-do attitude to meet the diverse needs of our building users. We are looking for a passionate individual driven to deliver exceptional customer service, dedicated to enriching the experience of all those who engage with us
The position is offered part time (21 hours per week, Tuesday–Thursday), at £11,369 p.a. (fte £18,948)
This maternity cover contract is offered for a minimum of six months, with the possibility of extension up to twelve months.
