An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Spike Island team as Operations and Administration Assistant. We are looking for someone with excellent administration skills and customer service experience to take on an important role at the heart of the Spike Island community.

Spike Island provides a home to a community of over 70 artists, designers and makers, as well as artist-led organisations, creative businesses and a co-working space (Spike Island Workspace).

You will contribute to the smooth running of our busy building and provide excellent services to our co-working space tenants, visitors and staff members. This new role will support and assist the Operations and Services Manager and the Office Manager in the day-to-day running and administration of Spike Island Workspace and our offices, as well as providing flexible support to front of house and gallery operations.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to Spike Island and we are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity in recruitment and employment. We consider diversity to be a strength and are therefore keen to make our workforce more representative of the different backgrounds and experiences that make up our city.

You will bring enthusiasm for Spike Island’s work and be a flexible team player, who is proactive, assertive and confident. Please refer to the Person Specification when completing your application.

This is a varied, part time role which is based on-site. Normal working hours are 12pm–5pm Wednesday to Friday. The role may involve some evening and weekend work, according to the needs of the organisation, for which over time would be provided at normal rate of pay.

This position is offered part time (15 hrs per week) at £19,000 p.a pro rata (£10.44 per hour)

The deadline to apply is 12noon, Tuesday 5 April 2022.

Interviews to be held on Tuesday 12 April 2022.
Interviews will be held on-site at Spike Island, as they will be preceded by a socially distanced building tour.

Spike Island will work with candidates to ensure their access needs are met during the interview process, while also ensuring that these needs will not influence our decision-making.
