Artist John Lawrence presents a one day programme After/Hours/Drop/Box, which takes the influence of the music video on contemporary art practices as its starting point.
3pm, Panel discussion
Writer, broadcaster and musician Morgan Quaintance chairs a discussion on the relevance and use of popular music within contemporary art practices. Panelists include Mark Dean, David Blandy and Rik Lander of the Duvet Brothers.
6pm, Screening of selected video works
Screening of works by seminal British scratch video artists George Barber and The Duvet Brothers, alongside work by Michael-Bell Smith, David Blandy, Paul B Davis, Mark Dean, Graham Dolphin, Peter Donaldson, Gery Georgieva, Guthrie Lonergan, Andrew Mania, Christian ‘Megazord’ Oldham, Hannah Perry, Juha Van Ingen, James Robertson, Roy Voss and Pil and Galia Kollectiv.
8pm, After/Hours/Drop/Box **LIVE**
An after-hours line-up of diverse live performance including Alice Theobald, Tom Woolner, Holly Slingsby, Patrick Coyle, David Blandy and more, exploring the influence of the music video. Expect a new take on a familiar dance routine, a ramshackle choir, a YouTube cat backed dance troupe and a pop video prop performance!
