Spike Island is shortlisted for the M&S Energy Community Energy Fund. We need your vote!
The M&S Energy Community Energy Fund are awarding grants to UK renewable energy projects who can demonstrate they have the support of their local community. A share of £350,000 is available to help places like Spike Island to generate renewable energy and become environmentally and financially sustainable.
Your vote will help us reach these funds, and if successful, we can install a solar thermal system to heat hot water throughout our building. This much needed environmental improvement will support the wider energy and cost saving measures being implemented during 2016 at Spike Island. This work includes a new energy efficient boiler, roof repair and LED lighting to safeguard the environmental and financial sustainability of Spike Island and support our community of building users and gallery visitors.
Help us ensure that the M&S Energy Community Energy Fund supports this vital resource at Spike Island!
Voting commences on Thursday 1 September 2016 and closes on Monday 10 October 2016.
Our wider building works programme is supported by Arts Council England, Ibstock Cory Environmental, TravelWest and the Carbon Trust.
