Calling all book lovers! Spike Island is launching an exciting new book club focussing on debut novelists.
Each month we’ll be inviting a previously unpublished writer to read from their new book, discuss the themes of the text and tell us about the ideas and inspirations behind their work.
Our first event is on Thursday 20 February at 6.30pm when New Zealander Robert Glancy will be talking about his debut Terms & Conditions. Then on Thursday 20 March at 6.30pm we welcome Eimear McBride, whose novel A Girl is a Half-formed Thing recently won the Goldsmiths Prize for Literature. There are more events in the pipeline for the summer too, so watch this space.
Book now and we’ll send you a short extract of the texts in advance.
In partnership with Bristol Festival of Ideas.
